After leaving Santa Barbara we coasted along on California Highway 1 and were able to relish in the beauty of God's creations. I can't even count the number of times on this journey through California I imagined what it would be like to be the mountains that provided a glorious view from miles away, the beautiful emerald green waves that crashed against anything in its way, or the cool breeze that followed us up the coast.
Imagine looking at a huge castle that sits at the top of a mountain. The castle got so unbelievably large that the owner's family turned it over to the state of California because no one in their right mind would want an estate that large. Hearst Castle was phenomenal and the history of its inception is very interesting.
Last stop of the trip... San Francisco. We biked across the Golden Gate Bridge and went live on Facebook afterward to share our opinions about our journey over the bridge (which by the way was 11 miles total including the miles it took to get to the bridge and end in Saulsalito). This expedition proved just how important it is for me to re-commit myself to consistent exercise. It was an experience I will never forget and with time, physically recover from! Our last night in the big city ended with a nice dinner before we boarded a plane the next morning.
The theme of this trip organically led to the exploration of life. Its value, surprises, and ultimate meaning. No matter where I am in life there will always be something I wish I could do better, had more of or exhibited a greater level of confidence in. There are so many possibilities in life and there is so much I would like to experience. The real question is who or what is holding me back? Of course this question is beyond cliche but the truth is, if there is a will there is a way. Passion leads people to achieving their dreams.
